Inspired by the needs of supermoto racers who require both extreme flexibility and extreme protection, the Sumo® R gloves are ideal for street riding too. In fact, to make it even more useful for everyday riding, LPD added a new touch screen interface to the finger tips for controlling your iPhone/Android/GPS, etc.

The secret to adding protection without sacrificing their legendary flexibility and comfort is the use of a specialized Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR) material. Its computer optimized, segmented design is transparent to the user yet provides serious impact resistance.

Compared to the standard DeerSports®, the Sumo® R has a completely outseam construction. It also adds impact protection to the knuckles, fingers and wrist bones.

It is suitable for all kinds of street and track riding, and includes all the same features as the standard Sumo model.

Care:
1. Put gloves on and get them wet with warm water
2. Add Woolite or mild detergent and scrub the gloves as if washing your hands
3. Rinse and air dry, do NOT put them into the dryer
4. Wash gloves once every 6 months.

Good but not perfect - yet.

First the ugly. Had to send these back to Lee Parks because there was a significant manufacturing flaw - the stitching missed a section on the leather so a portion of my little finger was exposed. MI suggested I work directly with Lee Parks as the service would be faster. Gloves were replaced and Lee Parks were very good to deal with (they mislabelled my gloves as merchandise and not as a warranty repair so I had to pay $45 in duty to get my gloves - after a quick email, Lee Parks reimbursed me. No fuss).

The good. The quality of the material is outstanding. Never had leather this soft. The feel of the control through the palms is amazing. The leather has great thickness and the armour feels like it would provide solid protection.

The bad. I found the rubber on the back of the Sumos to be extremely uncomfortable for the first few rides (oddly, only on my left hand). It feels like it’s loosening but it was unexpected. The next few hundred km will really tell after they’re fully broken in. Fingers crossed.

Warning: Be sure to follow directions regarding sizing. I’m usually a large but sizing said go with a medium. Glad I did. JUST fits. I would have been absolutely swimming in a large.
