The new LED modules offer a clean modern look, rugged housing, wider beam angle, and new LED technology.
All P3 systems now include the new LEDs.
Skene Lights has added a decelerometer option to our P3 rear visibility systems that recognizes rapid deceleration and triggers the brake light flash sequence without the rider ever activating the brake lever!
The deceleration system combines microprocessors and proprietary algorithms within a small controller to monitor your bike’s speed and direction. It even recognizes hills and leans, adjusting automatically to avoid triggering the brake lights unnecessarily.
Decelerometer versions (with or without auxillary turn signal function) offer the following in addition to the programmable tail light, brake light and emergency flasher capabilities of all P3 Rear Systems.
5 sensitivity levels (plus "off") to adjust to your bike, riding style and conditions
Levels are changed with the brake lever, no software, cables or wiring needed
Tip Over Flasher - in the event that the bike goes down on its side, the controller will automatically flash the lights to draw attention. Lights revert to normal operation when the bike is upright.
Fully CAN-bus compatible, as are all Skene Lights products
Easy installation with small separate controller and lights to allow flexibility
Complete rear visibility systems to supplement your bike's rear lighting. The systems Include the controller, a pair of very bright red LED modules, mounting hardware, wire connectors and a detailed installation manual.
Available with and without turn signal capability. Fully compatible with all makes and models including those with CAN-bus systems.
The P3 with Decelerometer system optimizes your bike's visibility by adding two rows of very bright LEDs to your motorcycle's rear license plate, supplementing your bike's existing tail light, brake light and emergency flashers. Compatible with all motorcycle brands, the system includes an intelligent control module, two red Photon Booster LED modules, universal mounting brackets, wire connectors and instructions.
The controller is capable of supporting additional lights and can be connected to stock tail/brake lights and additional accessory lights on top and side cases.

TECH SPECS
- Fully compatible with BMW CAN-bus
- Fully compatible with BMW 2-phase brake light firmware that illuminates a single-filament brake light as a tail light, as used on the R1200RT and other modelsThe two LED modules included with the system are usually mounted on either side of the motorcycle's license plate, although they can be mounted anywhere at the rear of the motorcycle. Aluminum brackets, stainless steel screws and stainless steel self-locking nuts are provided for this purpose.
The wires from the LED modules are then run up and under the seat of the motorcycle.
The P3 Lights controller (IQ-260) can power up to 6 amps of additional lamps, and the P3 Lights-TS controller (IQ-260-TS) can power up to 3 amps per side (left and right).
Tools required include a 7 mm or adjustable wrench, a Phillips screwdriver and any tools needed to gain access to the tail and brake light wires. These wires are usually accessed by removing the seat or the tail light housing.
Note: On motorcycles that have an LED tail light with only two wires going to it, connect the black P3 control module wire to the ground wire on the tail light, the white P3 control module wire to the non-ground wire going to the tail light, and the red P3 control module wire to the license plate light wire or to another switched source of 12 volts.
On the BMW R1200ST, the P3 controller may be pushed in from the rear beside the tail light reflector.
On the BMW R1150GS, the P3 controller fits neatly into the rear-most space under the seat.
Wiring of the controller with the decelerometer feature is the same as for the standard IQ-260.
The arrow on the controller label should point to the front of your bike
The controller should be placed horizontally, parallel to the ground
To minimize conducting engine vibration directly to the controller, the controller should NOT be secured directly to the chassis or frame
Bend the wires and secure the wire bundle to the bike
First, identify a flat, level location to position the controller as described above.
Second, identify the correct wires to tap for your bike and confirm that the controller wires will reach from the mounting location that you have chosen.
Next bend a curve in the wires near the controller and secure the wires to the bike, 3”-5” from the controller, using the provided zip tie. In order to isolate the controller from the bike’s vibration, it is insulated in neoprene.
Otherwise.......
Wiring of the controller with the decelerometer feature is the same as for the standard IQ-260!
Below are photos showing examples of where to locate and secure the decelerometer controller:
Modes are changed using the brake lever with the ignition on.
To enter programming mode:
Tap and release the brake 4 times
Wait 5-6 seconds for the lights to flash 4 times, indicating that you are in programming mode
Now tap and release the brake the number of times listed next to your desired mode from the list below
Wait 5-6 seconds without any brake activity. The lights will flash back to confirm that they have received your programming input.
The number of flashes will correspond to the ones digit of the sensitivity mode that has been entered. (e.g. 4 flashes would indicate that the sensitivity has now been set to “high”, programming mode 14)
After the lights flash, your entry has been saved and you are out of programming mode.
Great products, service and very fast shipping. Thank you Motorcycle Innovations.
Installed my Skene P3 lights the next day after I received them and they work just great , I had someone follow me around to get a review from others and they were suitable impressed , I will take a photo of them and send it to you , I mounted them on my 2016 Suzuki DL 1000 and it was a relatively easy install it took about 1 hr very worthwhile if you want to be seen and motorcyclists need all the safety components available to be visible to traffic in my opinion
I have been using these lights for over 7 years now. I first installed them on my Harley FLHS, then on the Ultra-Classic. I am currently having them installed on my new Indian Roadmaster 2020 at present. (5) on the rear and (2 - White) on the front lower Fairings. I highly recommend these lights for all bikes, considering the safety involved. They are extremely bright (day or night), and "YOU WILL BE NOTICED". I found drivers behind me, will brake as soon as I brake, using the (4) rapid flashing mode. Furthermore, they stay back and not on inches from your fender, as many drivers like to do, even tailgaters back off! You want to be seen? Then buy these lights and you'll be amazed how effective they are. I can't wait to see them on my new Indian Roadmaster.... Well worth the money, and safety, with peace of mind. Bob
Very happy. I was a quick easy instal on a 2014 Ural. The entire unit fit inside the tail light bracket. I used double side tape to stick the control module to the underside of the bracket.
The instructions were not the greatest, however once installed these lights work great! They can be seen in any condition and warned people I was riding with that I was slowing down, even though I had not yet touched my brakes. I've had nothing but positive comments regarding these lights and would highly recommend them.
