This unique dry film won't attract dirt or dust, is highly resistant to water, and prevents rust and corrosion It is the perfect lubricant to use on brake and throttle cables, throttle sleeves, brake pivot points, shift controls, and chains...... well... pretty much anything that creates friction. Prevents cable freeze up. It functions properly in temperatures from -20* F to 1000* F.
The needle is very fine and is the best applicator to get the Moly lube into cable sheaths, using gravity feed to make motorcycle shop work a breeze!
This is one of the easiest ways to apply drislide.
It is the most widely specified dry film lubricant in aviation maintenance manuals and for general industrial MRO applications, for tractor-trailers, motorcycles, bicycles, and even weapons.
Drislide Multi-Purpose Lubricants are a very thin liquid, made up of mostly mineral spirits as the carrier for molybdenum Disulfide (Moly).
The Moly settles at the bottom of the container and needs to be agitated or shaken up, before you apply the drislide. Once the moly is agitated and now suspended in the mineral spirits, the mineral spirits carries the moly across the application (metal service). The mineral spirits will evaporate in 10-15 minutes, leaving behind a nice thin layer of dry moly film, that has bonded to the metal service and will stay there to lubricant longer then other lubricants.
Once applied and the mineral spirits evaporate, the moly film withstand 100,000 psi and a temperature range of -20°F up to 1000°F.
This is NOT your grandfathers cable lube! Say What?! That sounds funny! ;-)
Agitation required. Drislide Multi-Purpose dries to a dry moly film, that bonds to the metal service, staying in place, to lubricate longer than other lubricants.
This product is labeled ORM-D by the Department of Transportation. Shipping within Canada ONLY!
Notes: Make sure to have a rag handy to clean up any excess lubricant. This stuff works amazing, but will leave a dark gray film if left on your frame or parts. Use of gloves during application is recommended.
Q. What is "Moly"? A. “ Moly” is the short name for the substance known as ( it’s scientific name) Molybdenum disulfide. “Moly” (Molybdenum disulfide, and it's scientific called out MoS2) is a naturally occurring mineral, formed and mined with other ores in various parts of the world. It is highly 's refined and processed into sub-micron particle size at which time it can be used as a “solid lubricant.” It possesses the properties of being able to withstand extremely high load capacities (400,000 psi). It is chemically stable, has a very low coefficient of friction (0.05 to 0.09 in powder form) and has thermo-stability over 2,000°F. All of these properties are essential to reduce metal to metal contact and thereby reduce friction, heat, and wear.
Q. What is the difference between Molybdenum Disulfide (MoS2) and Teflon (PTFE) in terms of Solid Lubricants? A. Both materials are very slippery. Molybdenum Disulfide, or Moly, is a naturally occurring inert mineralization that will sustain loads in excess of 400,000 psi, while PTFE, a manufactured chemical, can only sustain loads in the 350 to 450 psi range. MoS2 remains effective up to its melting point exceeding 2,000°F while PTFE forms a noxious gas near 650°F. Additionally, PTFE particle size is inconsistent and generally too large to remain in suspension. PTFE tends to “ball-up” or congeal at high temperatures.
Chain Lube you say???? Replace my regular gooey messy flingy tarlike petroleum based chain lube?
The Drislide Bike Aid lubricant is just as valuable, on chains, as it is to the inside cable sleeve and cable. And don’t forget the speedometer cable too!
The Mineral Spirits, being the carrier in the Drislide, will carry the moly, into the pins of the chain. It’ll creep into the smallest spaces.
The mineral spirits evaporate in 10 to 15 minutes, leaving the moly content, across the chain links and down in the pins, for continuous lubrication of the chain.
Extends the life, of the chain. Even prevent a little stretching, of the chain.
Works in hot or cold conditions. Wide temperature range. Pressure limitation is 100,000 p.s.i.
So once applied, the Drislide is not going anywhere.
There’s no need to remove a chain and dip it in a can, to get a good lubrication of the pins.
Drislide can be dribbled across the chain, for a full lubrication of moly-film coverage.
Not to mention, the Drislide B/A doesn’t collect dust or dirt and repels moisture. And Prevents rust and corrosion to boot!
Here’s a question for you:
What Chain-driven motorcycle, goes down the road, with no dust and dirt on the chain?
Answer: One that has Driiisliiide appliiied.
Its cable lube, and does what cable lube does! Applicator is very nice.
No more messy chain wax or slung off gear oil to clean off my bike. Drislide needs to be applied a little more often then the wax I used previously, but totally worth it.
Dry film molly lube will be my go to from now on.
Fast shipping, great prices
The product arrived after some delay. I'm in Oliver BC. Not NB...... MCI: The customer set up the account with New Brunswick. After verifying the postal code we shipped to BC, not sure why you are disappointed after you set up your account with the wrong province and we caught it???
This product is the best cable lube I have ever used. The metal needle applicator is probably the best part, it easily gets between the cable housing and the cable allowing you pour the lube where it needs to be! My time is worth a lot to me and this product saves me a lot of time, so I am very pleased. This product would work great for bicycle parts too.
