Testing Protocol

Every casino reviewed on QuickPay Casino Canada goes through the same standardized testing process. There are no shortcuts, no exceptions, and no special treatment for any casino regardless of its brand reputation or commission rate. Below is the complete protocol, step by step.

1. Account Creation

We create a standard player account using a legitimate Canadian identity. No VIP sign-up links. No affiliate manager introductions. No pre-arranged accounts. The registration process we experience is identical to what any Canadian player would encounter.

We note any friction points during registration: how long the process takes, what information is required, whether identity verification is requested upfront or deferred, and whether the casino auto-enrolls new players in promotional programs.

2. Deposit

Our standard test deposit is $200 CAD (or equivalent in cryptocurrency at the current exchange rate). We deposit using the same method we plan to withdraw with — this is important because many casinos require withdrawals to use the same method as the deposit, and testing with a different method would not reflect a typical player's experience.

For each casino, we conduct tests with at least two different payment methods where available: typically Bitcoin and either Interac e-Transfer or Visa. This allows us to compare withdrawal speeds across methods at the same casino under similar conditions.

3. Gameplay

Before requesting a withdrawal, we play through any minimum wagering requirements on the deposit. Most casinos require at least 1x playthrough. We play standard slots with published RTP values, wagering the minimum amount necessary to meet the requirement.

In tests where we accept the welcome bonus, we play through the full bonus wagering requirement before requesting a withdrawal. In tests where we decline the bonus, we play through only the deposit wagering requirement. We conduct both types of tests when possible, as bonus wagering status significantly affects withdrawal processing.

4. Withdrawal Request

We request the full withdrawable balance. The exact time of the request is recorded to the minute using a synchronized clock. We capture a screenshot of the withdrawal confirmation page showing the amount, method, and timestamp.

We do not contact support before or during the withdrawal to inquire about timing. The test measures the standard, unassisted experience.

5. Monitoring and Timing

We monitor the receiving wallet (for crypto) or bank account (for fiat). For cryptocurrency withdrawals, we check the blockchain explorer for incoming transactions. For fiat withdrawals, we check the bank account for pending or posted credits.

The timer stops when funds are confirmed: for crypto, this means at least one blockchain confirmation. For fiat, this means the funds are posted and available in the bank account (not just pending).

6. Documentation

Each test is documented with:

  • Date and time of the withdrawal request
  • Date and time funds were confirmed received
  • Total elapsed time in minutes
  • Withdrawal method used
  • Amount withdrawn
  • Any delays encountered and their apparent cause
  • Screenshots of the withdrawal status at each stage

Sample Sizes and Frequency

Each casino is tested a minimum of three times before it is eligible for listing on the site. These three tests must span at least two different weeks and include at least one weekend test (withdrawal requested on Saturday or Sunday).

After initial listing, each casino is re-tested at least once per quarter (every 90 days). If a casino's re-test results deviate significantly from its listed speed — defined as more than 50% slower than the previously reported median — we conduct two additional tests within 14 days to determine whether the slowdown is a one-time issue or a trend. If the additional tests confirm a slowdown, the casino's ranking is adjusted and the new median speed is displayed.

Casinos can also be re-tested out of cycle if we receive credible reports from readers about significant changes in payout speed. Reader reports trigger a new test cycle but do not automatically change the listed speed — only verified test results affect the ranking.

Scoring Methodology

Each casino receives a composite score on a 5.0 scale, weighted across five factors. The weights reflect our editorial focus on payout speed as the primary differentiator, while still ensuring that safety and usability are adequately represented.

Payout Speed Scoring (40%)

<30m 5.0
<1hr 4.5
<2hr 4.0
<4hr 3.5
<24hr 3.0

The median payout time from our tests is converted to a score. Under 30 minutes = 5.0. Under 60 minutes = 4.5. Under 2 hours = 4.0. Under 4 hours = 3.5. Under 24 hours = 3.0. Over 24 hours = 2.5 or lower depending on the actual time. Over 7 days = not listed.

Payout Consistency Scoring (20%)

We calculate the spread between the fastest and slowest test at the same casino. A spread under 15 minutes = 5.0. Under 30 minutes = 4.5. Under 1 hour = 4.0. Under 2 hours = 3.5. Over 2 hours = 3.0 or lower. A casino that pays in 45 minutes one day and 4 hours the next scores lower on consistency than a casino that consistently pays in 90 minutes.

Canadian Banking Options (15%)

We evaluate how many deposit and withdrawal methods are realistically available to Canadian players. Interac support adds a significant bonus because it is the most practical fiat option for Canadians. Multiple crypto options also score well. Casinos that accept Canadian deposits but restrict withdrawals to methods impractical for Canadian players (e.g., methods requiring a US bank account) score lower.

Trust and Safety (15%)

We evaluate the casino's licensing jurisdiction, player complaint history on public forums and complaint databases, SSL and security implementation, responsible gambling tools (deposit limits, self-exclusion, reality checks), and the clarity and fairness of terms and conditions. This is a qualitative assessment based on research, not a single measurable metric.

Games and Bonuses (10%)

Game library breadth, provider diversity, live dealer availability, and bonus fairness (wagering requirements, maximum bet limits during bonus play, game contribution rates). This factor has the lowest weight because it is the most subjective and the least relevant to our core focus on payout speed.

Edge Cases and Special Situations

🕑

First Withdrawal Delays

A player's first withdrawal is often slower due to identity verification. Our three minimum tests include one "first withdrawal" test. The median naturally weights toward typical experience rather than the first-time outlier.

📈

Large vs Small Amounts

Our standard test is $200. We do not systematically test $5,000+ withdrawals due to cost, but we note reported issues with large withdrawal delays, limits, and enhanced due diligence thresholds.

🎁

Bonus vs No-Bonus

We test both scenarios when possible. No-bonus withdrawals skip the compliance check and are faster at almost every casino. Our primary reported speed is for no-bonus withdrawals as the baseline.

🕵

Casino Response

We do not notify casinos of testing. If a casino discovers our test accounts and provides VIP fast-tracking, the test is voided and restarted with a new account. This has happened once in three years.

Limitations and Disclaimers

We are transparent about what our testing can and cannot tell you.

  • Sample size is limited. Three to six tests per casino, while more than most review sites conduct, is still a small sample. Our results reflect our experience, which may not match every player's experience. Variables like geographic location, time zone, and account history can affect individual withdrawal times.
  • We test from Ontario. Our bank accounts and IP addresses are Canadian, specifically Ontario-based. Players in other provinces or countries may have different experiences, particularly for fiat withdrawal methods.
  • We test standard amounts. Our $200 test deposits may not trigger the same processes as larger deposits. High-roller players should research withdrawal limits and VIP processing separately.
  • Conditions change. A casino's payout speed is not fixed. Staff changes, payment provider changes, regulatory changes, and volume fluctuations all affect processing times. Our quarterly re-testing catches significant changes, but gradual drift between tests may not be captured.
  • We are an affiliate site. We earn commissions from casinos when you click our links and sign up. We have structured our testing to be independent of commercial relationships, but the financial incentive exists. We believe publishing exact timestamps and maintaining consistent methodology is the strongest form of accountability — fake data would be exposed quickly by readers who test the same casinos.

Updates to This Methodology

This methodology page was published February 23, 2026. If we make significant changes to our testing protocol or scoring weights, those changes will be documented here with the date of the change and the reason for it. Minor wording clarifications are not documented, but substantive methodological changes always are.

You can see this methodology applied across our instant withdrawal casino Canada rankings, which cover fast payouts, instant withdrawals, and no-verification casinos in a single comprehensive guide. For questions about our methodology, see the About page for contact information.
